Extraordinary Gardens by Ordinary People
Western suburbs of Des Moines

The Polk County Master Gardeners’ 10th annual “Extraordinary Gardens by Ordinary People” garden tour will feature six beautiful home gardens, along with a surprise “bonus” garden. All gardens have all been designed and created by local Polk County Master Gardeners and reflect individual personalities. They range in size and style from a small cottage garden to a half-acre woodland outdoor living space. Visitors will find an oasis of perennials; dozens of annuals, grasses, tropicals, shrubs and trees; waterfalls and koi ponds; arbors and rain barrels; a dry stream bed and a potager garden; even a yellow brick road!
Tickets are $10.00 each and can be purchased at: Goode Greenhouse, Herndon’s Des Moines Seed and Nursery, The Woodsmith Store, the Earl May Nursery & Garden Centers located at 1845 22nd St. in West Des Moines, 5910 Douglas Avenue, 7701 Bloomfield Road in Des Moines, Highway 6 West, Waukee, and 1509 Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, and the ISU Extension Office at 1625 Adventureland Drive in Altoona.
